Red Bubble Macroalgae | Botryocladia skottsbergii

Botryocladia skottsbergii, also known as Red Bubble Algae is an attractive red macroalgae that grows to resemble a bundle of red bubbles due to its grape-like, fluid-filled bladders. It produces fluorescent-orange spots on these bladders that glow under actinic lighting. It is a very small species, maxing out at about 1”.
