Seldom seen in the hobby, and we are so excited to be offering it for sale! Halymenia stipitata is an attractive red macro algae that grows in the shape of a small, round bush. It fluoresces under actinic lighting - sporting small orange dots on its fleshy blades, giving it a star-like appearance. It is a pretty small species, maxing out at about 2-3” in diameter. Also referred to as Augophyllum wysorii, Halymenia dilatata, & Atomic Broccoli Algae.
