These small snails are no harm to most macroalgae and will routinely scavenge for microalgae such as hair algae in aquariums. Their small size allows them to scale and clean even the most delicate of macroalgae species, and they also breed very quickly. 

*Disclaimer: while we personally have never had snails do sufficient damage to macroalgae species, there is always a chance of snails taking a liking to a particular macroalgae.
