Staghorn Coralline Macroalgae | Neogoniolithon strictum

Staghorn Coralline Algae is an attractive red macroalgae that grows almost like an SPS coral. It sports gorgeous lavender-purple branches and is very heavily calcified. It somewhat resembles antlers, hence the common name we’ve given it! This species is generally safe with almost any fish and invertebrate due to its heavily calcified nature, with the exception of sea urchins.
