Bluestripe Pipefish are best kept in mature, established reef aquariums with plenty of live rock, caves, and sheltered areas. They naturally feed on small crustaceans and zooplankton, so a healthy population of copepods can be beneficial. Many individuals will also accept appropriately sized frozen foods such as enriched mysis and brine shrimp. Because they are deliberate feeders, they should be housed with peaceful tankmates that will not aggressively outcompete them for food. With proper feeding and a stable environment, the Bluestripe Pipefish makes a unique and beautiful addition to a peaceful reef aquarium.
