Benjamin Pygmy Goby | Trimma benjamini

The Benjamin’s Pygmy Goby (Trimma benjamini) is a tiny, peaceful reef goby with attractive red-orange coloration and a subtle translucent appearance. Reaching only around an inch in length, this tiny species is an excellent choice for nano and pico reef/macroalgae systems. It typically spends its time hovering or perching around rockwork and sheltered areas of the reef.

Provide plenty of mature live rock, small caves, and sheltered areas where this tiny goby can retreat when necessary. Due to its small size, it is best housed with similarly peaceful fish and should not be kept with large or aggressive tankmates that may intimidate or prey upon it. Feed small, appropriately sized foods such as copepods, finely chopped mysis, enriched baby brine shrimp, and other small frozen or prepared foods. Its extremely small size and gentle temperament make Trimma benjamini especially well suited to established nano and pico reef/macroalgae systems.
