A large species of predatory carpet anemone from the Caribbean. It will not host fish (such as clowns) and has a fairly strong sting. It will however host species of anemone shrimp (such as the Sun Anemone Shrimp) as well as anemone crabs, and even blue-legged hermit crabs. It prefers sandy substrate & will sting neighboring corals & anemones. Can reach up to 8” in length, but is sold as 2-4” specimens. We would not recommend one for a typical reef setup.
